Waspettes United Walking Football Club
Waspettes United Walking Football Club is the newest women’s walking football team in Basingstoke for ladies over the age of 40 and we are looking for new members to join the hive.
The health benefits for playing walking football are undeniable and it offers a multitude of physical and mental health benefits to women. For many, this is the first opportunity for a long time to play an organised team sport, so when they do, they discover the camaraderie that comes as an added benefit.
Many women who play walking football may have never played football before, so it is a great, slow paced introduction to the game.
Why join Waspettes United?
- Improve your fitness and wellbeing
- Make new friends in a supportive and inclusive environment
- A real sense of purpose and belonging
- No experience is needed – all abilities welcome
- Low-impact, suitable for people with disabilities
- Weekly qualified football coach led sessions
So, whether you’re returning to football after years away or trying it for the very first time, walking football is a fantastic way to enjoy the game at a slower pace, with no running and plenty of laughs along the way.
