New Volunteers NEEDED
Basingstoke Samaritans are looking for new volunteers to join their friendly Branch in Essex Road Basingstoke.
Every 10 seconds someone contacts us. Every 10 seconds we can help someone turn their life around. As a listening volunteer you get the chance to make a real difference to someone’s future.
You’ll receive full training to prepare you for the kinds of conversations you’ll have. And when you start out, you’ll have a mentor with you, to give you confidence you’re doing the right thing.
Along with supporting callers by phone, we also have strong Outreach Teams supporting our community. These Teams support PRIDE, the railway station, give talks to Groups, distribute literature to GP surgeries, our hospital, libraries and CAB and organise events with other charities and businesses raising awareness and fundraising…. We also welcome Support volunteers who help with media, fundraising, IT, maintenance and other valuable skills.
Our Branch is run completely by volunteers and self-funded from donations from members of the public and organisations that choose to support us.
